Find Shade

The Sun has many useful purposes in life, but it's not always your BFF during a portrait sesh. This is a prime example... I thought the sun was low enough in the sky to get some perfect golden light on their faces, but we ended up with really harsh shadows and plenty of strong urges to squint! 😂

For this one, we shifted over the grass 50 feet so that everyone was in the shade of the nearby building (Gilbert LDS Temple, in case you're wondering....) and the results were so much better. Still plenty of ambient light, but no harsh shadows or jaundiced looking faces! 🙌🏼
